Note on Winter Reservations
Yes we ARE open year round! Winter can be one of the most charming and peaceful times to stay in these beautiful mountains. Wildlife abounds everywhere and is really magical to watch. It is an absolutely peaceful and quiet winter-wonderland. Not to mention sledding, snow-shoeing, and cross-country skiing opportunities are right out your door! However for winter reservations, please take note that 4-wheel drive is essential along with snow tires or chains.
The weather may cooperate fully for your stay. On the other hand we are in Montana and it might not! Our family regularly stays at these cabins in the winter and we have always been fine with an AWD Honda Pilot with snow tires. The county is pretty good about plowing the roads, and a neighbor plows the cabin driveways after big snow storms. That being said we can't make any guarantees about accessibility because it's out of our control. And you certainly don't want to be stuck and miss a flight home because you brought a 2-wheel drive into the mountains of Montana or because you didn't put snow tires on or bring chains!
